About

Art is my language
I live and work in Shoreham-by-Sea, near Brighton, where the shifting coastline and the South Downs provide a constant source of inspiration. My work draws from the natural world, particularly the small and often overlooked details found in flora and fauna, which I reinterpret at a larger scale.
Through a process of experimentation with materials and casting techniques, I create sculptures that feel both familiar and slightly altered. I am interested in translating delicate, organic forms into durable pieces that can exist comfortably within outdoor environments. The work is often described as ‘manmade’ or ‘constructed’ nature, designed to sit quietly within its surroundings rather than compete with them.
I work alongside Teresa Martin, a sculptor and tutor, and we occasionally collaborate on larger projects, including commissions such as a tiger for London Zoo and the Adur Portals. Alongside this, I regularly exhibit in gardens and outdoor spaces where the relationship between sculpture and landscape can be enjoyed.
My work can be discovered at Leonardslee Gardens where I manage the all year sculpture trail along side other Surrey Sculpture Society trails such as Riverhill Hymalian Gardens, Claremont Landscape Gardens and Ramster Gardens. Previously I have shown at RHS Wisley, Savill Gardens, Borde Hill, Birtley House and Standen House NT.
More local to Shoreham, I take part in the Adur Festival, Brighton Festival. Worthing Festival and Arundel Festival.
I studied Foundation Art at City College Brighton and Hove before completing a Fine Art degree at the University of the Creative Arts in Farnham, specialising in sculpture. During this time, I explored materials with contrasting qualities, using processes such as dripping, melting and layering to create organic forms shaped by time and environment.
These ideas continue to inform my current work, where advanced casting techniques allow me to retain those qualities while producing sculptures that are robust enough to exist within the landscape.
Materials
All my sculptures are made resin reinforced with fibre glass. This makes them suitable for indoors or outdoors.
